About Denver

Locals might spend an afternoon at the renovated Union Station, which is Denver’s transit hub, a historic landmark, and a shopping destination all in one. First Friday Art Walks offer open galleries, great food, and fun for all ages. Denverites don’t need to go far for outdoor access, as the city is home to almost 20,000 acres of urban parks, and they often finish off a day of activity by sampling craft beers from one of the city’s 148 microbreweries.

Denver is located to the east of the Rocky Mountains and is just a couple hours' drive to some of the world’s most famous ski resorts — including Vail and Breckenridge — and even closer to mountains such as Winter Park and Keystone.

Most Denver residents use cars within the city, as well as to get to nearby mountains. However, the Regional Transit Authority (RTD) provides limited transportation options in the city and beyond, including light rail throughout the metro area, and the A-Line for travel between Denver and the airport. Learn more.
