Relay supports school districts and charter networks nationwide through innovative teacher preparation programs.

Innovative Teacher Preparation

Relay grew out of the shared work of three of the nation’s largest and most successful charter school networks: Uncommon Schools, KIPP, and Achievement First. Over 20 years, these organizations have shaped a new generation of 230 urban public schools that serve more than 80,000 students across the country.

Today, our experts nationwide help partner districts and networks by providing credentialing and continuing education programs for new and experienced teachers. Relay’s faculty of proven K-12 teachers prepare our graduate and certificate program students to improve their practice with cutting-edge teaching techniques, a practical curriculum that combines theory and practice, and meaningful feedback.

Serving Diverse Student Populations

The core of Relay’s mission is to prepare teachers and school leaders to help all students develop the academic skills and strength of character needed to succeed in college and later life. This commitment extends to supporting and preparing diverse teachers. In 2019, two-thirds of our students identified as persons of color, making us one of the most diverse educator preparation programs in the country.
