Program Overview
Schedule & Cost

Relay is excited to continue training school leaders and instructional coaches in California! Drawing content from Relay’s National Principal and Principal Supervisors Academy, the California ILPD program is a one-year fellowship that prepares current principal managers, principals, assistant principals, and other members of instructional leadership teams to become more effective instructional and cultural leaders. Participants will work in school teams to develop a common language and systems and will leave sessions with a clear roadmap for implementation aligned to their school’s schedule.

The Instructional Leadership Professional Development program will focus deeply on two  key elements of instructional leadership:

  • Data-Informed Decision Making: Learn how to implement school-wide systems for collecting and analyzing student work to ensure that all students meet rigorous expectations.
  • Observation & Feedback: Help your teachers grow to their full potential by building a schedule that supports frequent classroom observations and focused feedback meetings.

Participants will work with expert faculty who have demonstrated the ability to close opportunity gaps in their schools and districts.

Ideal Candidate

The ILPD fellowship is designed for all educational staff who coach teachers and principals. All principal managers, principals, and members of their leadership teams (including assistant principals, coaches, and network-level leaders) are welcome to request seats
